I'm really pleased to announce the launch of a new regular feature on the Proofreader's Parlour – Client Talk. Over the next few months I'll be publishing interviews with some of the people who commission editorial freelancers – those on whom we depend to make our businesses viable.
I thought it would be useful, particularly for new entrants to the field, to hear about the production process from the other side of the desk, so to speak – the challenges faced and the latest technologies being embraced – and to pick up tips from publishing professionals about what they're looking for and how they find their editorial freelancers.
As always, I'll do my best to ensure the series is as international as possible. So while you'll be hearing from UK publishers and project management agencies, look out, too, for contributions from the USA, South Africa, Canada, Australia, India and beyond.
Read the inaugural interview in the series with Jo Bottrill, Director of Out of House Publishing. And look out for the upcoming interview with a US education publisher.
