I'm pleased to announce the launch of my ebook, Business Planning for Editorial Freelancers: A Guide for New Starters, published in association with The Publishing Training Centre. For those who'd like to read what editorial and publishing professionals are saying about this guide, there are now some fabulous reviews here on my website.
Written for those with no prior publishing or editorial experience, this practical guide takes new editorial freelancers, step by step, through the basics of planning their business.
Who have I been working with?
The project is published in association with The Publishing Training Centre, one of the UK's premier training providers for the publishing industry. I've been training with the PTC since I began my publishing career over 20 years ago and I'm delighted that they feel this guide is worth associating their good name with. Their editorial input and publishing guidance have been instrumental to the content and the production process.
The guide also benefits hugely from the contributions of several editorial colleagues and friends who worked with me on the practitioner focus sections and case studies: Kate Haigh, Nick Jones, Liz Jones, Janet MacMillan, Mary McCauley, Johanna Robinson, Anna Sharman, Marcus Trower and Grace Wilson. These real-world examples enrich the key learning goals discussed and I'm grateful to these editorial professionals for taking time out of their busy schedules to share their views and experiences.
