The Author–Editor Clinic was founded in 2004 by Seattle-based writer and editor Barbara Sjoholm. It provides high-quality instruction and mentoring for freelance editors who wish to expand their skills. The Clinic’s focus is on developmental editing of long manuscripts of fiction and creative non-fiction.
For editors, the Clinic offers mentoring programmes, occasional seminars and distance-learning classes for developmental editors of fiction and creative nonfiction. For authors, there are editorial sessions, a manuscript review service and a referral list of freelance editors.
The site also features relevant online and print publications, and recommended resources including classes, societies, writers’ organizations and books.
